Serene Suffolk

Serene Suffolk 01, October, 2018

Suffolk is surrounded by beautiful countryside and stunning scenery; this tour takes us on a journey around the medieval villages and towns that this serene county is famous for.

Day 1 On arrival at our hotel, we will enjoy a welcome tea or coffee whilst our bags are taken to our room.

Day 2 This morning we will make our way to the pretty coastal town of Aldeburgh, famous for its connection with the composer Benjamin Britten. The High Street has plenty of independent shops to browse with an array of cafes, restaurants and tea rooms to discover. After lunch we will make our way to Green Island Gardens a little Piece of Heaven on Earth. Green Island Gardens is a professionally designed Garden by Fiona Edmond. The site is a 22 acre triangular land is land originally woodland now laid out with terraced area, generous island borders, water gardens, a seaside garden, Japanese garden, gravel gardens and extensive woodland gardens sensitively planted displaying many unusual plants that thrive in the unique micro climate.

Day 3 After breakfast we will travel to to Woodbridge. This is a beautiful and vibrant market town on the banks of the River Deben and known as the 'gem' in Suffolk's crown. In the afternoon we will make our way to Waldringfield where we will be welcomed aboard our all-weather cruise boat for a 2 hour journey along the river Deben, one of the most beautiful and scenic spots on the east coast.

Day 4 This morning we will travel through the Suffolk countryside to Ickworth, a Georgian Italianate palace in an idyllic English landscape. In the afternoon we will make our way to Sudbury via Lavenham, one of Englandís best preserved and prettiest medieval wool towns located in the heart of Suffolk. We will continue onto the ancient market town of Sudbury where we will spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5 After breakfast, we leave our hotel and begin our journey home.
