We had a very successful day last Saturday at the Excursions Exhibition held at Alexandra Palace. The exhibition was for group travel organisers and visitors and exhibitors came from far and wide. It was the first time we had exhibited at the show and the shows first time in the Great Hall.
There were three of us on the stand (including the MD!) and we were kept very busy all day. We were lucky enough to have one of our Setra’s, the pride of our fleet, at the exhibition; this created great interest from everyone who visited our stand and was a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate the services we are able to offer our group travel organisers and customers alike.
The coach was such an eye-catcher that even Joey, the star of War Horse, who was there to open the show, wanted to get on and have a look round. Unfortunately, due to Joey’s size he was only able to get his head in the door but at least he was able to see where the driver sits!
We had many visitors interested in all aspects of coach travel ranging from short day trips to longer tours and everything in between. It was good to see that interest in coach travel is increasing and to have the time to chat to so many people about what they would like to do not only in the coming months but for 2015 as well. We were able to feed our visitors too as the MD’s wife had made a mountain of iced cup cakes all in company colours, they went down a treat!
The show featured a diverse range of operators and venues and it was great to meet other exhibitors; we have come away with some great ideas for new trips in 2015.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day and I think everyone who attended did so too, the atmosphere was a very jolly one. We heard before we left that the show had substantially increased the number of visitors from last year, which was excellent news.
As we drove out of the Great Hall, very tired, foot sore and hungry, we were discussing our plans for next year’s show!
