Day 1: We will make our way to Newquay, making lunch and comfort stops along the way.
Day 2: Our excursion today takes us to the beautiful global garden known as the Eden Project. Explore massive covered Biomes to trek through the world’s largest indoor rainforest and immerse yourself in the calm fragrance of the Mediterranean Biome. Enjoy extensive Outdoor Gardens, contemporary artworks, performance and storytelling. Discover places to rest and eat, and pick up some inspiring ideas to take home on how to care for the planet that cares for you. After plenty of time to explore, we will make our way back to our hotel visiting Charlestown along the way. Charlestown is an amazingly pristine, unspoiled example of a late Georgian working port. To this day, the port remains unspoiled and retains much of its Georgian character. This unique combination has led to Charlestown being a popular location for film & television locations.
Day 3: This morning we make our way to the picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey. Narrow streets and steep valley sides lead down to the centre of the old Mevagissey where the distinctive twin harbour provides a safe haven for the many fishing boats to land their daily catch. In typical picture postcard style, pubs, cafes, galleries and shops cluster around the harbour walls and line the pretty streets. Named after two Irish saints, St Meva and St Issey, the village dates back to at least 1313. This afternoon, we head to the amazing Lost Gardens of Heligan where we are welcomed with a garden introduction. With over 200 acres of garden paradise, we have time at leisure to explore the breath-taking surroundings, including the spectacular jungle!
Day 4: Today you may choose to enjoy all Newquay has to offer; stroll along the coastal paths, browse the shops or visit the picturesque harbour. You may of course prefer to join us on our included excursion to Truro. Cornwall's only city, Truro's heritage is evident in historic architecture, delightful parks and public spaces but at the same time is contemporary, quirky and unique - always welcoming and often surprising. Here vibrant, local independent shops and market traders rub shoulders with the usual national retailers in an ecletic mix with a creative vibe. Truro has a criss-cross of cobbled roads, browsable streets and magical mews, always rewarding for the curious and quiet joy for the unhurried.
Day 5: This morning, after breakfast, we say goodbye to this beautiful part of the country and begin our journey home.
