Nestled in the beautiful Surrey Countryside, Mayfield Lavender Farm is a 25-acre lavender farm with café and shop located in Banstead. The farm is a popular visitor attraction throughout summer where you can wander through a sea of stunning, vibrant purple blooms of organic lavender. The lavender normally starts to bloom towards the middle to end of June and the peak time is July and August.
After our visit we will make our way to Penshurst Place and Gardens. One of the oldest family owned estates in England, Penshurst Place is an historical gem in the Weald of Kent countryside. The stately home and gardens were once used as a hunting lodge for King Henry VIII and now feature beautiful staterooms and grounds that are frequently showcased in popular TV and film productions. The Queen Elizabeth Room and Long Gallery contain a collection of family portraits from across the centuries, antique furniture and skilfully crafted tapestries. Outside we can enjoy a stroll through the 11 acres of formal walled gardens and discover hidden corners brimming with fruit trees, glorious floral displays, colourful borders and water features.
